Yves Rocher home page - improving UI for more Premium brand look

Introduction

I needed a challenge - an e-comerce website. And frankly, what could be better than beauty and cosmetics industry? This is a simple passion project where I aimed for improving the existing UI of the Yves Rocher website.

Process

I started by identifying painpoints in the current UI. The main issues included information overload, visual noice, and inconsistent hierarchy, which made scanning the page more difficult.

Upgrade the visual design for a more premium feel.
Improve information architecture of the home page.
Ensure more cohesive visuals and reduce the visual noise.

Benchmark

I jumped into analysing the industry leaders, including brands and stores like Sephora, The Ordinary and Cocolita. My goal for the redesign was to reach for more "Premium" brand direction.

The first thing I did was auditing the subpages I have been working on. I have taken into consideration the Heuristics, design patterns, accessibility and overall good practices while designing a website. I followed with the benchmark (analysing mostly medical clinics' websites).

Visuals & New Design

I wanted to keep the original look as much as possible, while also aiming for the Premium look. I refreshed the color palette, while keeping the original light green color, and also included a new, cohesive typography.

In the final design, I prioritized visual clarity, improved information architecture, and sections like "Our Commitments", and an educational newsletter. I have made an attempt to reduce the visual noise and improve the readability and clarity of the page.
